Executive Chef David Sidoti
Chef David was born in Rochester, New York and grew up working in his father’s Italian restaurant. His family lived to cook, visit and enjoy meals together. He fondly recalls his grandparents spending every Sunday working on the perfect gravy, and the joy and community that cooking brought his family.
David graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in 1986, where he was awarded the Thomas J. Keating, “Most Likely To Succeed Award”. Chef Sidoti began his career at The Country Club of Virginia under Certified Master Chef Klaus Friedenreich. In following years, Chef David has been recognized by several prestigious organizations. Most notably are his nominations and awards as, “Chef of the Year” by the Chef’s Association of the Pacific Coast and his “Best of Category” award in the Club Manager’s Association of America, International Idea Fair. In 2006, Chef Sidoti was awarded with the prestigious Antonin Carême Medal. The program honors those rare individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the culinary profession, particularly to education and the advancement of gastronomy and the culinary arts.
The Mountain Winery has been proud to call David Sidoti their Executive Chef for seven years. It takes a special kind of person to impeccably execute six restaurants; from menu creation to plating meals. “It can be challenging, but that’s what makes it fun! I eat it, sleep it and dream it… I wake up in the middle of the night thinking, 'oh, I forgot to order the zucchini!' ” says Chef David on his work at The Mountain Winery.
Chef David’s creativity and dedication to local, seasonal ingredients is demonstrated in each restaurant concept and in the meals he carefully prepares for private events and weddings. Chef David has an opportunity to shine when creating custom menus for The Mountain Winery Signature Event series. In addition to his work at The Mountain Winery, Chef David is also a guest chef and consultant at The O.co Coliseum and The San Jose EarthQuake’s Avaya Stadium.
