Our history begins in 1852 when Frenchman Etienne Thée created one of California's earliest wineries. His granddaughter married Paul Masson who expanded the winery to its current Saratoga mountain top location and built our historic winery building over 100 years ago. Paul Masson's wines won worldwide recognition and later his protégé, Martin Ray, continued that tradition. Our vineyards are planted with the same varietals that Paul Masson brought over from his native Burgundy; Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Mountain Winery's unique micro climate and well drained soils are once again producing premium wine worthy of international acclaim.
This year's release of Mountain Winery wines are some of the best ever produced at the winery. Our wines are only served and sold at The Mountain Winery due to the limited quantity produced to assure the wine maker's high quality standards.
Club Mountain Winery Members enjoy the following...
- Three shipments per year (April, August, December)
- Four Bottles per shipment - Prices vary depending on the shipment and are generally 10% below retail price. Each shipment cost $100 plus shipping and handling.
- Wines will be hand selected by our wine maker and will include three selections from our Reserve Series and one selection from our Estate Series.

All taxes will apply for California State residents. Shipping and handling will be added to the total. An adult signature is required for delivery or wine can be picked up at The Mountain Winery. Click here to see the wine shipping laws in your state. If wine is returned, any cost that is incurred will be billed directly to you. All cancellations to the Wine Club must be made in writing 30 days before the next scheduled shipment to our Wine Manager Jesse Montenegro.
